Mohamed Khaled Al Hazzaa, Acting Advocate General and Head of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), welcomed the visit of Counselor Jaber Saleh Al Marri, Head of the Arab Charter on Human Rights Committee at the League of Arab States, and his accompanying delegation at SIU’s headquarters.
At the outset of the meeting, Al Hazzaa welcomed the visiting delegation and praised the committee’s efforts to promote the protection and respect for human rights in the Arab world. They discussed the role of SIU in upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability within Bahrain’s justice system as an independent and unique judicial body in the region. They also highlighted its organizational structure and operational mechanisms that are aligned with relevant international standards.
