Within the framework of the Communication and Media Division of the Special Investigation Unit following up on all social media sites to monitor what is being published and circulated in terms of facts that constitute crimes within the jurisdiction of the unit; Today, an audio clip was monitored circulating on the social networking site (Instagram), which includes the claim of the mother of an inmate at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center in Jaw, that her son was abused by an officer.
Immediately, a member of the Special Investigation Unit moved to the Correction and Rehabilitation Center, and listened to the statements of the inmate who denied his mother’s accusations, and testified that the incident occurred when a police member of the Correction and Rehabilitation Center pushed him twice while searching the inmates’ wards, and that this incident took place in the presence of the officer who his name was circulated in the audio recording, but the latter took legal measures against the policeman, and no actions or words were issued by him that constitute any form of mistreatment.
The unit ordered the inclusion of the security camera recordings at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center of the incident, and assigned the Judicial Police Division to search and investigate the incident and its circumstances and situation in order to reach its truth, while assigning the Victims and Witnesses Affairs Division of the Special Investigation Unit to communicate with the inmate’s mother and inform her of the progress of the investigation and the legal procedures that were taken.
