The Special Investigation Unit, in cooperation with the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, organized a virtual lecture for a number of officers from the directorate’s staff about the work of the Special Investigation Unit. The lecture dealt with the establishment of the unit, its objectives and competencies, and the international standards it follows in its work, especially the Istanbul Protocol for the investigation and documentation of cases of torture and ill-treatment.
