The Attorney General, Dr. Ali bin Fadhul Al-Buainain, met today in his office and in the presence of the First General Advocate, Counselor Nayef Yousef Mahmoud, the Acting Attorney General, Head of the Special Investigation Unit, Mr. Mohammad Khalid Al-Hazaa, and members of the unit, where the Attorney General honored them all in appreciation of their efforts in carrying out the unit’s tasks, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Special Investigation Unit and that is after ten Years since its establishment, the Attorney General praised during the meeting the level of performance of the Special Investigation Unit and the dedication of its members in carrying out its functions in the protection of human rights and the implementation of legal principles and international standards related to the promotion and respect of these rights in a way that earned it the confidence of society and international recognition, which reflects its success as the first judicial body in The Middle East region specializes in investigating allegations of cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment in accordance with the rules and principles of the Istanbul Evidence-Finding Protocol. The Acting Head of the Unit and its members expressed their thanks and pride for this honor, and their determination to continue to maximum efforts to fulfill their mission.
